How to remove “smartlink to:” from firefox

November 15, 2010 8 comments

Today I noticed something on my Firefox installation. Every site I visited has a link that says smartLink to: and links to Wikipedia and other sites. I don’t remember adding this feature. It’s really annoying there is no easy way to tell the difference between smartLink and the site links and I endup clicking smartLinks.

I start to look who hijacked my browser. After googling few words It turns out to be skipscreen plug-in is adding links to the pages. I was pissed off not only because they don’t ask permission to install but there is no option to turn it off. The solution is disabling skipscreen plug-in. If you don’t like smartLink you can either disable or remove SmartLinks completely through the Firefox –> Tools menu>>SmartLinks (at bottoom of the list)>> Remove Smart Link.

How to turn GPRS/Edge off on HTC

September 16, 2009 Leave a comment

I’ve HTC snap with stupid windows mobile installed and I’m not on a fixed data plan, since i use wi-fi. I want turn off the 3G, GPRS, or EDGE connection when not in use to save data cost. However there is no way to turn off GPRS even if you manage to turn it off it keeps turning on.

Here’s a quick, handy little application I’ve found MoDaCo NoData

It lists your GPRS connections, and allows you to disable connections and re-enable them when you need them.

Note: If you get errors on toggling, you need to app unlock your device (e.g. with SDA Application Unlocker).

If you are using Opencube infinite menus in your website, you probably saw “Infinite menus must be purchased for internet use” message.

This message is popping up because the trial version of Infinite Menus has been used to develop the page. Opencube the developer of Infinite Menus want you to buy their software before using it on the internet. It is good tool for designing professional looking menus and you should probably buy it if you are going to use it.

However this message is very naggy while your developing your page. So Here is quick way to remove this message.

Steps

  1. Open the page that contains your menus
  2. Find this string jrwupdqf
  3. Remove all the characters in the quotation and make it empty string. Just like this sx36(“”)
  4. Save your page and test if it has been removed.
